Easter Day B

The resurrection of Christ

Sentence
  Christ is risen
        He is risen indeed

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord jesus Christ! By his great mercy we have been born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3.

Collects
Almighty God, you have conquered death through your dearly beloved Son Jesus Christ and opened to us the grate of everlasting life: grant us by your grace to set our mind on things above, so that by your continual help our whole life may be transformed; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit in everlasting glory. Amen. BCP Easter Day.

Let us pray [that we may know the risen Christ]
God our Father, by raising Christ your Son, you conquered the power of death and opened for us the way to eternal life. In our celebration today raise us up and renew our lives by the Spirit that is within us. Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. AAPB

Brightness of God's glory, whom death could not conquer nor the tomb imprision: as you have shared our frailty in human flesh, help us to share your immortality in the Spirit; let no shadow of the grave terrify us, and no fear of darkness turn our hearts from you. Reveal yourself to us this day and all our days, as the First and the Last, the Living One, our immortal Saviour and Lord. Amen. APBA

Hymn or Chorus first line
Now the King of glory has come
Jesus my saviour, Oh how I love you
Great and wonderful are your deeds
Jesus stand among us
Hallelujah today!
Hear the bells ringing, they're singing
When I survey the wondrous cross
Light's reddening dawn gleams through the sky

The Hymn of the risen Christ
Christ our passover has been | sacrificed for us:
so let us cele|brate the feast,
not with the old leaven of cor|ruption and wickedness:
but with the unleavened bread of sin|cerity and truth.
Christ once raised from the dead | dies no more:
death has no more do|minion over him.
In dying he died to sin | once for all:
in living he | lives to God.
See yourselves therefore as | dead to sin:
and alive to God in Jesus | Christ our Lord.
Christ has been | raised from the dead:
the first fruits of | those who sleep.
For as by | man came death:
      by man has come also the resurrection | of the dead;
For as in | Adam all die:
even so in Christ shall all be | made alive.
      Glo|ry to God:
      Father, Son and | Holy Spirit;
As in the be|ginning so now:
      and for ever | Amen.
